Why Meal Heals ?
“Meal Heals” is a heartfelt initiative by Yogananda Trust, launched on April 30, 2025, in front of AIIMS, New Delhi. This program is driven by a single belief — *nourishment is more than food.* It’s love, dignity, and hope served on every plate.
Every day, hundreds journey to AIIMS from remote villages, seeking treatment for life-threatening conditions. In their struggle, many face another battle — hunger. “Meal Heals” provides Free, Nutritious Meals to these patients and their caregivers, easing at least one burden during their time of need.

Food for the Body. Healing for the Soul.

Beyond nourishment, each meal is served with a dose of healing. Along with freshly prepared food, beneficiaries receive:

Testimonial
We went to AIIMS hospital in Delhi to distribute food for the needy people. Food was distributed by our Paramhansa Yogananda Trust, we also went there and saw that there was a very long queue for food and there were many people who stay with the patient for a long time. They stay with the patient for 1-2 months or a year. When we distributed food, we felt very good and along with food, we did healing prayer for the patient, in which many people gathered. They were asking to pray by taking the name of their patients. It was very good to see that people still believe in God. Where medicine does not work, prayer works. So we all should also do this healing prayer which has been taught by our Guru Ji. Om Guru 🙏
Through Meal Heals, we have helped many patients and their families who are financially weak. What I experienced was that many people had to travel around 2 km to get food. When we started telling them about food, there was a smile on everyone's face that now we will not have to travel 2 km. Everybody would ask us daily when we will come tomorrow. Then we told them the time. They used to wait for us and get happy on seeing us and eat well. They would also take food for their admitted patients.
After the inauguration of Meal Heals, we distributed food to around 500. When we talked to them, we came to know that they were with the patients and some had been living there for two years, three years or five years. They were facing the problem of food and they also did not have money. They came from different states, like someone from Bihar, someone from Assam, and someone from Kolkata. They said, "It feels very good to talk to you people. It feels like half of our stress is over and everything will be fine." The feeling of hope and relief was clearly visible on their faces, which was very satisfying for us. They also told us that you people are doing a very noble work. We also asked them about their health, like the name of the patient, what happened, and what is the disease. So they told us about it in detail.
The people I met at AIIMS were those who were suffering from physical, mental and financial problems. They not only need food but also need self-confidence. They need love and someone to listen to their pain.
Our trust has started a new Meal Hills project near AIIMS Hospital in which we feed the needy people. There were some who could not come to get food, so we used to give them parcels. Everyone used to praise our food. Everyone had been there for many days, some for 1 month, some for 1 year. On seeing us, a smile used to come on their face.
While serving food as part of Meals Heals, I asked an aunty, “How many days have you been in Delhi?” She told me that she had sold everything. Her son has a hole on his chest. She has come here after selling two gold bangles because she did not have any money. She asked where I had come from, I told her that I had come from Vrindavan and we have a team that comes here daily to distribute food. She became very happy and said, “I have never eaten food by standing in a line or by asking someone and today such a day has come that I have to stand in a line but I am very happy because if I remain sad in front of my son then he will be even more sad after 25 days our turn has come to the doctor and you all should treat us like your own because everyone else goes after distributing food, when you all talk to everyone then their mind becomes light”.
