15 minutes of your day can be
the highlight of their week!
The initiative aptly called the ‘Circle of Love’ allowed me to receive love manifold, and I am ever so grateful for getting this opportunity.

WHAT IS CIRCLE OF LOVE
An inspiring online volunteering program connecting you with elderly mothers in 15-minute Whatsapp video calls.
Circle of Love is a heartwarming initiative by the Yogananda Trust, aimed at bridging the gap between generations and bringing smiles to the faces of elderly mothers. We understand the importance of companionship and the impact it can have on those who may feel isolated or lonely. With this program, you have the opportunity to brighten someone’s day and create meaningful connections.

THE VISION OF CIRCLE OF LOVE SEVA
In our mission to spread the light and warmth of the Divine, one person at a time, the Circle of Love lights two candles with a single matchstick. Through “seva” (service), join us to restore dignity and respect for all of our 3100 mothers!

You can talk to our “Maas” using Whatsapp Video Calls; your smile beaming through the phone screen is far more powerful than your voice. Over video calls, the connection grows deeper, and the bond becomes stronger.
The calls are weekly. You can speak to our mothers on one designated day and feel rejuvenated for the rest of your week. Most of our volunteers often look forward to these calls the entire week, and so do our mothers.
15 minutes once a week.
Our program currently supports Bengali, Hindi and English. Our mothers majorly speak Bengali. It’s completely okay if you’re matched with a mother who doesn’t speak Hindi/English. Our coordinators act as translators and help you communicate smoothly with the mother in case of a language barrier.
Fill out the Google form provided that helps us know you better https://forms.gle/C4suLTQNFETtL9q86
Within a week of filling the form, you will be matched with a mother who we feel would best connect with you for maximum fulfilment of your seva. Her name and background details will be shared with you.
A weekly time slot for your interactions will be mutually decided and we will share the number of our coordinator who will be facilitating your call with the mother.
Monthly Seva Satsangs will be conducted for all volunteers where the right attitudes of seva will be shared so that we can all grow through our service.
These conversations are informal and relaxed and you can converse with the mother about anything you like. You can talk about your day and ask her about hers. You can share stories, recipes, sing bhajans or pray together, practice affirmations or play simple virtual games. You are also assigned a coordinator who helps you break the ice and familiarise yourself with the mother.
If you are unable to attend the call, kindly inform your coordinator in advance. We will try rescheduling for another suitable time in the week.
