SAshakt Bharat - Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra
Empowering the Elderly with Their Rightful Pension

A Bridge to
Dignity, Support, and Justice
For years, countless elderly—especially widowed mothers and other elderly destitute in Vrindavan—have lived in neglect, not only emotionally and socially, but financially. While the government provides pension schemes meant to ensure a basic sense of security, the reality is that most elderly have been left out—lost in a system too complex to navigate alone.
The Sashakt Bharat – Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra, an initiative by the Paramhansa Yogananda Public Charitable Trust, is changing that.
What Is Sashakt Bharat - Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra?

Inaugurated on 7th May 2025, during the 10th anniversary year of the Paramhansa Yogananda Public Charitable Trust, the Sashakt Bharat – Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra stands as a dedicated support center for the elderly Mothers, Widows, Destitutes, Babas, and other seniors in and around Vrindavan.
It’s mission is clear

To help the elderly access essential government-sponsored benefits and pensions—services they are rightfully entitled to, but often miss out on due to a lack of awareness, documentation, or assistance.

Where once they faced prolonged delays, confusing bureaucracy, and unfair costs, today they have a compassionate, effective, and transparent guide in the Sashakt Bharat - Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra.

Why This Was Needed
Most elderly in Vrindavan have:
- Little or no understanding of their legal entitlements
- No documentation to prove eligibility
- No one to guide them through complex government systems

Many would spend exorbitant amounts of money to middlemen, only to wait years—sometimes forever—for their pensions to arrive.
The Sashakt Bharat - Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra
Seva Kendra was born to end
this injustice.
How the Kendra Works:
a 3-Step Process
Awareness & Education
We begin by reaching out to the elderly where they live—in ashrams, shelters, and on the streets.
Our team:
- Educates them about their rights and government benefits
- Organizes community talks where elders can ask questions and feel heard
- Builds trust through personal visitsand compassionate outreach

Documentation Assistance:
Most beneficiaries don’t have essential identity and eligibility documents.
Our team:
- Identify what’s missing
- Obtain or recreate documents like Aadhaar cards, death certificates, proof of residence, etc.
- Ensure their paperwork is error-free and ready for submission
Application & Follow-Through
Once ready, we:
We begin by reaching out to the elderly where they live—in ashrams, shelters, and on the streets.
Our team:
- Apply for pensions on their behalf
- Regularly follow up with government offices to prevent delays
- Keep the elders informed at every step
- Help them receive their first pension within weeks—not years

Real Impact
Since its inception, the Sashakt Bharat – Vriddh Jan Seva Kendra has helped thousands of elderly—many of them widowed mothers—gain access to pensions that were long overdue.
These monthly pensions, though modest, offer more than just financial relief. They offer security, stability, and the feeling of being seen and supported.

“From Helplessness to Empowerment”

Some mothers were so moved after receiving their pensions that they donated a small sum back to the Trust — a token of gratitude, and a heartfelt wish that others like them may benefit too.
For many, this was their first opportunity in years—or in life—to give back. They felt truly empowered—not just as beneficiaries, but as contributors to a cause greater than themselves.
